This simple little writing exercise should help get your creative juices flowing, and also engender a sense of calm.
Imagine yourself in the perfect garden. Explore and describe this garden through writing. This is your garden. Don’t be constrained by realities. This garden can be anything and anywhere you want it to be: countryside, urban, coastal, jungle, theme park, oasis, desert island – there are no limitations.
Use all of your senses. You might consider the weather, the time of day, who, if anyone, is with you. Don’t think too hard. Just follow the writing.
As ever, writing longhand is best.
Let me know how you get on.
